The US State Department appreciates the UAE's humanitarian efforts for Afghan refugees


 US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed his country's gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for its humanitarian efforts and offered to facilitate the safe passage of US citizens, embassy staff, and evacuees from Kabul to third countries.


Blinken added that the United States highly appreciates the support of the UAE government, which is a symbol of the strong and lasting partnership between the two countries.


The UAE Foreign Ministry had announced that the UAE had agreed to host five thousand Afghans who were evacuated from Afghanistan before they went to other countries, and the Afghans will be evacuated from Kabul to the Emirates on American planes.


The UAE has also facilitated the evacuation of about eight thousand five hundred foreign people from Afghanistan with Emirati planes and through its airports.


The UAE affirmed that it supports peaceful and multilateral solutions and continues to work with international partners to help Afghanistan.
